“I should say;
The house shelters day-dreaming, the house protects the dreamer, the house allows one to dream in peace.”
This penthouse pays homage to the admiration of natural materials and celebrates how tactility juxtaposes and corresponds. It is inspired by affluence, motivated by galleries and hotels; A quiet luxury. The feeling of ‘coming home’ begins from hearing the ding when you step out of the lift. As the lift door opens, the weight of the world is left behind (momentarily, of course). Hence, the private lift lobby and hallway act as a signifier of ‘coming home’. By gradually introducing the vertical, natural oak-veneer panels, the design language that governs the project, it serves as a warm invitation leading them into the rest of their home.
The second level of the penthouse is essentially a private brood meant for the couple. Therefore, we reconfigured the doors location of the existing two bedrooms, transforming it into a suite for the couple, with a walk-in wardrobe. We introduced a darker shade into the palette with tones of greys.
